Your wedding is a very, very unique moment in your life – so you will surely want to be surrounded by all those you love and who genuinely love you back. Your dogs are like family to you –so, of course, you will want them to be included in the Big Day as well.
How to do this? Here are some tips to consider:
First of all, be sure your wedding venue allows for pets on its premises. The last thing you want is to plan for your pup’s inclusion in the wedding and to realize you are not allowed to bring him along.
Furthermore, remember that not all dogs are comfortable around many people – so if yours will feel uneasy with all those wedding guests surrounding him, you should consider offering him a role that will keep him away from the crowd. For example, you could include your dog in the wedding pictures only, in the engagement pictures or, why not, on your Save the Date cards.
Another way to include your dog in the wedding is by having him walk down the aisle as a bridesmaid or groomsman, or, if you want to create an adorable moment, to have him walk down the aisle as your ring bearer (or flower “girl”).
To make sure your dog is comfortable once his important part of the wedding is done, consider hiring a pet sitter. This should keep your pup safe and out of trouble.
