Not only do you need to choose a location that is beautiful and speaks to you – but we highly advise brides and grooms to choose a location that includes both the ceremony site and the reception venue too. Why? Because this way, you will not lose precious moments of your wedding day traveling from the ceremony to the reception (and you don’t risk having any of your guests get lost on their way too).
Skip the receiving line if you have more guests. Namely, if you have more than 50 guests, it is very likely that the receiving line will take more than an hour. Instead of taking this the traditional path, how about just stopping by each table and thanking everyone for coming? It’s gracious and it saves both of your time and your guests’.
Ice breaking games can be a blessing. Really, a Mad Libs on each table, a wedding themed crosswords puzzle, or a quiz about the bride and the groom can really fire up the guests and help them socialize more. This is especially important at those tables where guests might not know each other very well (but, according to your seating master plan, they might actually kick it off very well).
Think of everyone’s comfort. Paper fans when it’s hot outside, bug repellents, blankets if it’s chilly, heaters inside your tent if you plan a late summer or fall wedding – these things can really add up to the entire experience. Even more, their lack of could generate discomfort in your guests (and if that happens, the food, the entertainment, and the décor will start to matter less and less).
