Do you want to honor loved ones in your wedding?

Your wedding is a truly amazing and special moment in your life – so it’s perfectly normal to want everyone you love to be there and witness your love story, your commitment, and your hope. How do you honor your loved ones in your wedding and make it feel as if they were there for you too? We have some ideas for you – so read on and find out more.

Have a moment of silence. One of the classiest and most traditional ways of honoring a long lost one is by having a moment of silence in their memory. You can have this during the ceremony or reception, as you see it more fit.

  • Wear something of theirs. Your grandma’s favorite pair of earrings, your grandpa’s favorite bow-tie, a shirt they loved or simply their wedding gown – your loved ones surely had their favorite items. And you can surely incorporate them in your wedding attire or design too – even if not in their original shape (e.g. you can repurpose a tie to work as a bouquet wrap, for example).

  • Save them a seat. Everyone understands just how hard it is for you to not be able to be with your lost loved ones on such an important day of your life. Save them a seat at the ceremony in their memory – it will make the moment even more overwhelmingly sentimental and unforgettable.

  • Write them in the ceremony program. Include a special paragraph or page for your loved ones – tell their story and speak about how much they meant for you. This way, all of your guests will get acquainted with this really special person in your life.
