Renting tuxedoes is rather common, even among grooms and their groomsmen. However, renting a wedding dress tends to be less popular. Why is that? What are the advantages and disadvantages of renting a wedding gown? We have some tips you should keep in mind – so read on and find out more.
The obvious and most widely accepted benefit of renting a wedding dress is the lower price. Not only will you spend much less for a gown (that will only be worn once, by the way), but you can also save money on accessories (many rental places give them for free), and you will be able to wear an actual designer creation at a small fraction of its original price.
Of course, a lower price also comes with a smaller number of options. If you decide to rent your wedding dress, you will find that your options are quite limited in terms of design and size. However, you can still find a lot of options that are absolutely lovely!
If you are not particularly keen on keeping the wedding gown after the wedding, or if you are downright stressed out at the idea you’ll have to properly store it away for the next decades, renting your wedding gown will be a good option.
Remember this, though: most rental companies will charge extra for any kind of stain or damage – so if you do rent your wedding dress, be sure to keep it and wear it in pristine condition if you don’t want to pay more than you bargained for.
