This Is Where You Should Start When Cutting Your Wedding Guest List
Your wedding is going to be one of the happiest and most memorable experiences of your life – so it’s perfectly natural that you want everyone you love to be there for you. However, what happens when you find yourself in the position to cut your guest list (either because you want it to be more intimate or because you want to save a little more money)?
We have some tips to help you decide who shouldn’t come to your wedding – read on and find out more.
Workmates. If you get along really, really well with your colleagues outside of the work environment too, then go ahead and invite them to your wedding. But if you don’t get along that well, you might want to just leave them out (or just invite those who are closer to you, because you don’t have to invite the entire team).
Exes. You may get along with your Ex and your future spouse may not have anything against them. However, inviting them to the wedding will inevitably generate some sort of awkward situation (between the Ex and your current spouse, or even between the Ex and your friends/ relatives who know him). It’s probably best to not invite them.
Drama queens. Your wedding is a HAPPY event. Don’t let anyone ruin it for you – no matter how much someone else insists that you should invite them to your wedding, you really have the right to avoid people who might cause any kind of scene (either sober or under the influence of one too many cocktails). Invite people who are close to you and who will respect the fact that this is YOUR Big Day!
Anyone you don’t actually get along with. That cousin your mom insists on inviting to your wedding – the one that ruined your homecoming dress? Or maybe that super-annoying auntie who always gossips you around your back? You don’t have to invite them to your wedding, regardless of how much your mom, dad, or other relatives insist. Your wedding, your rules!
