How do You Actually Plan Your Honeymoon?

Your honeymoon is more than just a vacation – it is a trip of self-discovery and celebration at the same time. This vacation is dedicated to you as a couple, to your love story, to your beginnings as a husband and wife together. Given its importance and the life event it’s associated with, it makes perfect sense that you want to plan a honeymoon that’s truly unforgettable and beautiful.

How do you do that? What are some of the things you should definitely remember?

We have some tips for you – keep reading and find out more.

  • It’s not a race to visit all checkpoints. In other words, we know you want to see a lot of places and to come back home with a thousand and one photos. But at the same time, this vacation should be completely relaxing, especially after all the stress of planning the wedding itself. You shouldn’t over-plan everything – you should allow yourselves to wander around, discover, and simply enjoy yourselves and each other’s presence. Don’t make this a race against time!

  • You don’t have to go on an exotic beach vacation or Paris trip to call it a honeymoon. Every couple is unique – and for some of you, the Caribbean beaches might just not mean much. That’s perfectly understandable – choose a destination and a type of vacation that is suitable for who you are as a couple. Ultimately, this honeymoon should celebrate you – and the best way to do this is by doing the things that define you, be it mountain trekking, dessert adventures, or city trips.

  • If you travel to Europe, remember that luggage allowance is usually smaller there. You might not pack a lot when you leave home, but there’s a pretty good chance that you will come back with a luggage that’s literally stuffed with everything under the Sun, to bring it back home to your friends and relatives.

  • DO make a playlist and DO buy a wine you like to bring back home. This is all about creating memories and helping your brain associate your honeymoon with the best moments of your life. Listening to the music you listened to while on honeymoon will instantly bring back memories of it – and having a glass of local wine from the places you visited can also bring back beautiful memories (which is why this is the perfect idea for your one year anniversary!).
